Joanita Zachariassen Returns to Uganda to Elevate Her Music Career

Renowned Ugandan Afropop and Afrobeat artist Joanita Zachariassen has officially relocated to Uganda to focus on her music career.

After years of establishing herself as a celebrated vocal talent in Denmark, Joanita has chosen to return home permanently to grow her musical influence in Uganda.

Speaking at a press conference held at Papaz Spot in Makindye on Thursday, the Party After Party hitmaker, accompanied by her husband and son, expressed excitement about her decision.

“I have achieved a lot in Scandinavia, and now I want to make a similar impact in Uganda,” she stated. Joanita believes her distinct musical style will resonate with Ugandan audiences.

“This is a significant step in my career. I have built a strong fanbase abroad, but now I want to connect with my supporters here at home. Performing on big international stages has been an incredible journey, but I also want to thrive locally. When you return home, you must bring something fresh, and I am confident I have that.”

She credited her husband for standing by her side and fully supporting the move.

“I told my husband that I missed home, and he was very supportive. He made a major sacrifice for us to relocate. It’s not easy, but his belief in me has been unwavering. I want to inspire young people and everyone who looks up to me.”

Joanita is optimistic that the unique sound that earned her success in Scandinavia will also captivate Ugandan music lovers as she embarks on this new chapter in her career.
