Four Shot Dead in Stanbic Bank Robbery Attempt at Kololo

A robbery attempt at Acacia Mall in Kampala was thwarted by police, resulting in the deaths of four suspects and the critical injury of a fifth. According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango, the suspects were intercepted just before they could rob a customer who had withdrawn cash from the Stanbic Bank branch located within the mall.

While the identities of the suspects remain unknown, police have recovered machetes and motorcycles, which the robbers had planned to use in their heist. Onyango clarified that the customer was unaware of the impending robbery, and police acted swiftly once the suspects were about to execute their plan.

Eyewitnesses, however, have raised concerns, claiming that the suspects were shot dead even after surrendering to the authorities. The suspects were reportedly already on the police watchlist, suspected of being involved in a series of previous robberies.

The investigation into the foiled robbery is ongoing, and police have promised to release more details as they continue to gather information.
